beIN’s ‘Welcome to Qatar’ has already accompanied many Arab and international stars during their host-nation visits, such as Arsene Wenger, Bacary Sagna, Peter Schmeichel, and many more
With the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 approaching, Qatar has become a hot-spot destination for many football stars and it was an incredible tour of Qatar for two football greats as they were shown the top tourists draws and sports and other facilities in the country.
beIN MEDIA GROUP’s flagship sports channel beIN SPORTS escorted Dutch football legend Ruud Gullit, best world player in 1987 and 1989, and former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson, on an incredible tour of Qatar, during the next instalment of its exclusive highlights programme ‘Welcome to Qatar’, said a Press note from the beIN Media Team.
During their tour, the two legends visit famous tourist attractions and various sports organisations within the country. Gullit visits the National Museum of Qatar, where he learns more about Qatari culture and traditions. While Robinson’s tour focuses more on the sports infrastructure of Qatar, as he visits Khalifa International Stadium, Aspire Academy, and Aspetar Hospital, the world’s leading hospital in orthopaedics surgery and sports medicine.
beIN SPORTS will broadcast the seventh episode on Thursday, 21 October, at 18:00 Mecca Time (GMT +3) on beIN SPORTS Premium 1.
Speaking on the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM, Ruud Gullit said, “The FIFA World Cup in Qatar will be spectacular, especially as you don’t have to fly and the fans can use the metro to travel between stadiums — enabling people to watch two matches per day”.
Commentating on the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadiums, Paul Robinson said, “People think that the stadiums for the World Cup are still being built, but the stadiums are built and are ready before time”.
Since April 2021, beIN has been curating and airing this celebratory monthly programme, showcasing the State’s preparations for the upcoming international tournament, providing a behind-the-scenes glimpse at its world-class stadiums and facilities, and highlighting the beautiful tourist attractions available for visitors to explore.
Qatar is the first Arab and Middle Eastern country in history to host this tournament and with this in mind, beIN’s ‘Welcome to Qatar’ has already accompanied many Arab and international stars during their host-nation visits, such as Arsene Wenger, Bacary Sagna, Peter Schmeichel, and many more.
