Qatar Museums invites volunteers for its ‘Bayti Qatar’ initiative

Qatar Museums has undertaken a new volunteering initiative under the name “Bayti Qatar” by inviting long-standing expatriate community that considers Qatar to be their second home, to register themselves in this programme before June 21.

Through this programme, Qatar Museums wishes to honour the importance of Qatar’s expats community that has continuously stood by and present with the people of Qatar and has significantly contributed in the development of this country.

The goal of “Bayti Qatar” initiative is to create a community within the expats that could engage itself in the future activities and events hosted by Qatar Museum and become a part of one museums’ family.

The goal of this community can be summed up as following:

  • Engage in QM’s future activities, special events & community initiatives.
  • Engage with visitor services, meeting local and international VIPs, celebrities, and artists.
  • Create smaller community engagement initiatives through ad hoc committees.
  • Be a part of the museums’ family while gaining a wider circle of friends.
  • Create a learning platform to develop personal life skills and build up self-esteem.
  • Spend quality and efficient time, especially during this time of a pandemic.

The criteria for the selection of the volunteers include expats who have spent more that 20 years in Qatar with preference being given to those with 3rd or 4th generation expats members.

Applicants are expected to be knowledgeable in the art, heritage, culture, sports, environment, history etc. of Qatar. Volunteers are also expected to have good communication as well as social skills.

Moreover, they should have flexibility as regards to availability of time to attend the meetings and events that will happen in the due course of time. Registration is open until June 21.

Qatar Museum has said it’s looking forward to welcoming interested candidates to its Bayti Qatar (Home in Qatar) community.
